Aron Schüler - Director of Engineering with ParOne Inc / AVA Golf

Special guest

Aron Schüler is one of golf technology's most inventive engineering minds, whose journey from solo developer to leading AVA Golf's engineering team began with a simple frustration: data without clarity. A Germany-based developer with a pronounced accent that guest host Rich Katz joked would only be problematic during Oktoberfest, Aron first made his mark by building "R10 Progress," a program designed to upload and analyze Garmin R10 launch monitor data. He recognized that while launch monitors delivered a flood of numbers, golfers lacked an intuitive way to see through those digits to actual meaning. That project quickly expanded into a broader platform capable of ingesting data from multiple launch monitor vendors—all with the goal of visualization and analysis. But despite having mountains of data at his disposal, Aron sensed something was still missing.

That missing piece was video, and it led him to leave his position at a large agency and join JR Charles at ParOne to build AVA.Golf. What sold him on the move was the vision of "golf intelligence" - a holistic platform combining launch monitor data, on-course statistics from tools like Arccos, and synchronized video instruction. As Director of Engineering, Aron now leads a global team (US-based engineers in Dallas, a design firm in London, and Top 100 instructors across Florida, Arizona, and New York) to create what he calls a "calm, structured place for improvement." Beyond his technical credentials, Aron serves as AVA.Golf's most compelling proof case: he dropped his handicap from a 28 to an 18 simply by using the platform he is building. His advice to golfers is characteristically direct and product-informed: "Most tools give you more data, but at AVA Golf, we're trying to give you direction. Ultimately, your game needs direction."
