Jenefeness Franke - Founder of Soft Life Swing Society
Special guest
Jenefeness Franke is the founder of Soft Life Swing Society, a grassroots golf community based in Tacoma, Washington, dedicated to creating a kinder, lower-pressure entry point into golf for women, particularly Black women and women of colour. Her own golf journey began in 2018, when she started taking her daughter to The First Tee practices and events and eventually picked up a club herself at the driving range.
Like many beginners, her first full round on a par-72 course in 2021–22 was an intimidating and discouraging experience. But rather than walk away, she began inviting other new and nervous women to join her at the range and at par-three courses, and a movement built on mutual support, shared learning, and zero judgment was born. What started as casual outings has grown into a community of nearly 200 registered women - 97% of whom had never picked up a golf club before - complete with a "club closet" of loaner equipment so that gear is never a barrier.
Under Jenefeness's leadership, Soft Life Swing Society has built meaningful partnerships across the golf industry, including instructional lesson cohorts and reserved Tuesday tee times at Meadow Park Golf Course, relationships with Fir State Golf Club, equipment support from PXG, gift cards from Pro Discount Golf, and indoor simulator mixers at Evergreen Golf Club in Tacoma and Redmond. She is a passionate advocate for removing the intimidation factor from golf by teaching safety, grip, swing, and tempo fundamentals while instilling proper etiquette and pace of play and she is a vocal voice on the industry's plus-size women's apparel gap, calling for golf fashion that fits and flatters curvy golfers.
A lifelong learner who describes herself as a hustling entrepreneur, Jenefeness is currently exploring how to expand Soft Life Swing Society into Seattle and scale its impact for 2027 and beyond, all while keeping the mission simple: make golf accessible, low pressure, and fun. Connect with her and the community on Instagram and Facebook at Soft Life Swing Society.
