Tom Coyne - best selling writer and Founder of Coyne Golf

Special guest

Tom Coyne is a storyteller who has masterfully blended his two great passions - writing and golf - into an extraordinary career as a New York Times bestselling author, acclaimed entrepreneur, and modern-day golfing pilgrim. His journey began not on the fairways, but in the pages of books, with a love for writing that took root in first grade.

After studying creative writing, he burst onto the scene with his golf novel A Gentleman's Game, which was quickly adapted into a film, setting him on an unexpected path as a golf writer. He soon found his unique voice in nonfiction, embarking on "unreasonable" quests chronicled in books like Paper Tiger, where he dedicated over a year to chasing a PGA Tour dream, and his iconic "A Course Called" series, which saw him walk across Ireland and play every links course in Scotland in a mad dash to qualify for The Open.

These epic journeys are far more than golf travelogues; they are profound explorations of obsession, hospitality, and the human spirit. Tom discovered that golf is merely the compelling backdrop against which the real stories of people, place, and personal challenge unfold. His writing resonates because of its relatable vulnerability and self-deprecating humor, inviting readers to feel as if they are walking alongside him.

This authentic connection with his audience, built through tales of uncommon kindness on the road and a deep love for the game's hidden gems, naturally evolved into his entrepreneurial venture, Coyne Golf. Alongside his wife, he now uses his hard-won expertise to craft bespoke golf travel experiences, helping others discover the magic of Irish and Scottish links for themselves, turning a personal passion into a shared enterprise.

Tom is also the co-owner and operator of Sullivan County Golf Club in upstate New York, which is the main character in his upcoming book "Home".
