Aimee Cho - Golf Instruction YouTube Star on "Golf With Aimee"
Special guest
Aimee's goal is to "goal is to 'Aimeefy' the game, meaning making golf simple, fun & effective while helping golfers enjoy the game to the fullest!”
Golf is one of Aimee's lifelong passions and like many individuals born to strong immigrant parents, it was her family who properly introduced her to this sport at the ripe old age of six. Ever since then she was hooked.
As golf is both an intense physical and mental sport, Aimee trained rigorously, earning an athletic scholarship to the University of Florida, an offer she eventually decided to choose because of the proximity of the university to family who she is extremely close to.
Aimee had a very memorable time playing for the University of Florida. as she was selected to be on the NCAA All-American Team and SEC First Team two years in a row and the 2nd freshman in UF history to be the SEC’s individual golf champion.
After her days at the University of Florida, Aimee played professionally for 10 years, living out a childhood dream of playing golf professionally and participating in iconic events as the US Women’s Open in 2006 and 2013. Unfortunately, years of chronic back problems and injuries forced Aimee to retire from playing on tour and I was left pondering the next phase of her life.
After retiring from pro golf, Aimee began working as a television broadcaster providing golf advice on a Korean television station in Los Angeles as well as privately coaching students of all levels in golf. While giving golf tips on television, Aimee realized the potential to reach a much wider audience of viewers was huge. She also found a second passion in creating media.
When the opportunity to start a YouTube channel and website to provide golf tips and coaching came about, Aimee was compelled to take action. So in 2015 the "Golf With Aimee" YouTube channel was born in both Korean and English. Three short years later, "Golf With Aimee" YouTube videos have over 30 million views and over 134,000 subscribers. Are we have a feeling that Aimee is just getting started!
