Joe Assell is the CEO and Co-Founder of GOLFTEC, the world leader in golf instruction with over 200 locations across the United States, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

In this episode host Colin Weston speaks with Joe about his entrepreneurial journey, the creation of GOLFTEC and the passionate culture he has created that inspires their entire team to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset that constantly strives to innovate and improve their student experience.


Colin also travels to the Vancouver GOLFTEC location for a much-needed lesson with Head Teaching Pro Norman Baufeld. Afterwards he speaks with Norman to get his thoughts on innovative culture that defines GOLFTEC's success.

Founded by Assell and Mike Clinton in 1995, GOLFTEC has given over 7 million private lessons. Assell serves on the Finance Committee for Colorado PGA Section and has won Teacher of The Year. In 2008, he was named Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
